Physics Labs

Interactive physics labs you can run in a browser. Each one is a single self-contained page — nothing to install, no account to make, and no data leaves your device.

PV Cycle Lab

Drag state points to build a closed thermodynamic cycle on a pressure–volume diagram. The work, heat, and internal energy update as you move each point, and closing the loop reports the net work and the efficiency of the engine you designed.

Screenshot of the PV Cycle Lab: a rectangular thermodynamic cycle plotted on pressure versus volume axes, with a cylinder diagram, a net work per cycle readout of 600 joules at 20.3 percent efficiency, and a table of work, internal energy and heat for each leg.

Relativity Lab

One speed slider drives four linked experiments: a light clock, length contraction of a moving ship, the cosmic-ray muon survival problem, and the relativity of simultaneity aboard a train car. Set the speed and watch what “moving clocks run slow” actually looks like.

Screenshot of the Relativity Lab: a speed slider set to 0.600 c with a Lorentz factor of 1.250, tabs for four experiments, and two side-by-side light clocks showing 8 ticks for the stationary clock against 6 ticks for the moving one.

Dune Buggy Challenge

Roll a ball down a ramp and off the edge of a table so that it lands in the cup of a buggy driving across the floor. Predict where the buggy has to start, then take your one shot and see the miss in centimetres.

Screenshot of the Dune Buggy Challenge: a ramp on a 100 cm table with a dashed parabolic path arcing down into the cup on an orange buggy, alongside setup sliders, a results panel and a numbered worked solution.

Crash Box Challenge

A Hot Wheels car rolls down a ramp and crashes into a box you design. Time it with two photogates, find out how skid distance depends on release distance, then predict the release point that lands the box in the target zone.

Screenshot of the Crash Box Challenge: an orange Hot Wheels track ramp leading past photogates A and B to a cardstock box that has skidded into a green target zone, with photogate times, a velocity-time graph, a skid-distance versus release-distance plot, and a numbered worked solution.

In development

Two more labs are being built: a Bernoulli pipe lab for fluid dynamics, and an RLC phasor explorer for AC circuits and resonance. They will appear here when they are ready.
